My 'Secret' for Stitching More
Keep in mind that I don't stitch much, and I went for a bit over a year with just one ornament HD, and little bits here and there of stitching on a few projects.
Part of that can be blamed on the fact that I don't watch much TV. I spend most of my day while DF is at work, planted in front of the computer. And it's hard to stitch and surf at the same time.
But since I've moved here to SJ and have my stitching chair in the sun, and have been trying to spend more time with DF in the evenings while he watches TiVo and surfs on his laptop in the TV room, I have been stitching a good deal more.
I've found what makes it easy to stitch is just having a project handy, ready to pick up and start stitching. Last night, while I did watch some TV with DF, he wanted me to get info on the TW get together, and then I tried to find some decently priced airfare that matches his schedule. I finished, and I might have stayed and stitched, but I knew I had to hunt down the project (still in the bag from our trip), the floss colors I needed but didn't take along (took a couple wrong ones, oops!), and just knowing I had to hunt things down and get settled in, I ended up not. He had put in some anime he picked up at the Con that I just totally wasn't interested in, and so I went and did other things.
If I'd had my project all together, I think I might have stayed, at least for a little bit. Till the stupid sitcom-ness of the program he picked got to be too much. Ah, well. ;) Going to try to have something ready to work on this evening.

Thanks for the comment, but this is strictly my cross stitching journal (I have another, elsewhere), and I'm only doing blogroll links to other cross stitchers on the Teresa Wentzler board.
Oh, you are totally right on having stuff ready to go...I definately stitch more since I got my floor stand for my birthday (what a great hubby I have!). It's sooo nice to just grab the floss, scissors, etc (which I now keep in a little bin), sit down, and stitch away :)
