Darned Stomach!
Well, Sam and I were supposed to drive up to our friends who live in 'the valley' and hang out this afternoon and evening, since it's our last free weekend here. So we got going this morning to get some recycling done, and stuff we wanted to donate to the Goodwill taken care of.
At the time, our friends had hoped we'd show up early, around 1 or so, but we called before we started heading that way, and sure enough, plans had changed a little. So we killed some time at Fashion Island at the Apple Store and Sharper Image, then up to Fry's Electronics to kill another hour, and back down toward Irvine to the only stand-alone Chick-fil-a we know of in the area.
As we were sitting and eating, my stomach decided to go rogue on me, and I had to run to the ladies' room. Something that just happens to me now and then... I suspect it's IBS, but I don't think they had defined IBS back in the 70s when they tried to figure out what my problems were. So, I had to rush home, and knew I'd better stay home... an hour on the road (in good traffic) to our friends', and trust me, I don't want to be that far from a bathroom. Blah.
So at my bidding, DF went ahead and drove on up without me. They were kind of his friends before they were mine, so hopefully they won't be too offended that I couldn't make it.
It did mean that I got to watch the Belmont, which was nice, even if Smarty Jones didn't capture the win. And now I'm left with lots of stuff I probably should do, but I think I'd like to curl up and stitch and just relax.
Sam probably won't be back until late (10pmish), so I guess I can throw in one of the Netflix movies (Sorry we keep them so long, WG!!! LOL I so rarely drag myself away from the computer these days to watch movies & stitch), stitch for a while, and then maybe tackle some filing later on. The only problem is, I'd really rather be stitching on something more fun than a Cherished Teddie. The rest of my stash is packed, but the boxes aren't sealed, so the temptation is there. I just have no willpower, no stick-to-it-ness. Gonna do CT or nothing at all though.

*waves* Hi Dee! I'm sure you'll enjoy the SJ area, I've worked a lot with folks out there and it sounds really nice :-) And my DBIL & his wife live in SF, so maybe we can get together when we get out there next (who knows when that will be though!) :-)
Sounds like fun... for sure let us know if you're coming out west! Sounds like there are a lot of stitchers in the bay area, so maybe we can have a get together in your honor! ;)
